Dangerously Delightful Delicious Decadence!

1 10 2008

Via a friend in our online adoption group I came across this wonderful recipe.  But be forewarned. . . now we are all just 5 minutes away from a delicious piece of chocolate cake!!!  Yikes!

5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake

1 coffee mug

4 TBS flour

4TBS sugar

2 TBS baking cocoa

1 egg

3 TBS milk

3 TBS oil

Small splash of vanilla

3 TBS chocolate chips

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well.  Add the egg and mix thoroughly.  Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.  Add the vanilla and chocolate chips and mix again.  Put your mug in the microwave and cook for ** edit: I think 2 1/2 minutes is better then 3 minutes.  The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don’t be alarmed.  Allow to cool for a minute and tip out onto a plate.  ENJOY!

Girls’ Night Out

17 04 2008

Monday night I felt like I was in college again.  Emma, Joy, Naomi, Melanie, Kristin, Lauren, and I had a girls’ night out.  All of our husbands are out of town at a conference (except Mel’s) so we thought it’d be a fun evening to get together and enjoy some female bonding!  Here are some photo’s of our time together.

Snow days

17 02 2008

Although this past week in Northern Virginia did bring school delays and some closures due to freezing rain; life here will never compare to the winter wonderland of Northern Maine.  The following are photos from the snow fall this past week in Presque Isle, Maine.

Copywrited poem!

31 01 2008

Background:  The ladies in my caregroup are getting together Friday evening for dinner, and McDonalds was the decided upon restaurant.  However Joy was late in her response to let us all know if she was coming.  The following is her penitence for her tardy response.  While I didn’t get expressed reprinting rights I figured it was okay since Joy WAS the slowpoke.

OH MCDONALDS HOW WE LOVE YOU
by Joy Lewis

Oh McDonalds, how we love you
How we love your apple pies
How we love your chicken nuggets
How we love your greasy fries
Oh McDonalds, how we love you
We will ever use your booths
to sit and eat and chew and laugh
And then we all will clean our tooths
